Q: Body image obsession

I've always had a weird obsession with my body image, thinking I'm too fat. Lately, my eating habits have gotten out of control. I'm starting to freak out because I'm not at home, I'm abroad in Europe and don't really have ANYONE to go to. I go through patterns of binging and purging. Sometimes I won't for a week or two and then I will about 3 times a day. I never really thought I had a problem until today when I started vomiting blood, but continued anyway. This has been going on for about 2 years now and I just can't get myself to stop! Every time, I tell myself it's the last time and this is a ridiculous habit. It's been occurring for way too long now and I'm afraid of the physical implications this will have on me. I guess right now all I need is some helpful support until I go home and can seek some sort of therapy.

Purging

I can understand what you are going through. You feel alone and out of control. I feel for you honey. I think your best bet is to go to a doctor, just because you started vomiting blood. Purging can eventually make your teeth fall out, which i am sure you don't want. I wish you all the best of luck, find somebody who will help you, and remember: you are not alone in this struggle.

I can't say I know what it's like having an eating disorder, but it is very sad that ANYONE should feel that what other people think of them matters. In the end, it's all about looking good, right? If a man REALLY loved you, he wouldn't give a damn what you look like. I'm a bit overweight and average-looking (certainly not pretty, anyway XP), and I like to think that I am lucky. Why? Because if a guy falls in love with me, it will be for ME and not what I look like. ^_^
