bloodshot right eye on reg basis, neuro say NOT pink eye. then?

red swollen, fuzzy vision and gritty feeling in eye. Feels like the eye itself is swollen (I know it is not). This has been going on for over a year, Neuro says it is not pink eye, but did nothing to find out what it is. This is becoming a niusance. Should I go to Emerg? I have floaters and latley have been seeing white and dark shadows which seem to block vision, when shadows occur. (I live in Canada, so in order to see an eye dr.
