Blood test values and their meanings vary according to what you're being tested for, and your demographic (male/female, age, etc.) Generally, doctors set a reference range for most tests, which is a set of values that is average for 95 percent of the normal population.
In general, HCG is a test for hemoglobin, a protein used by red blood cells to distribute oxygen to other tissues and cells in the body. Low levels indicate anemia. High levels can be caused by:
1. Polycythemia Vera
2. Vigorous Exercise
3. High altitude
HCT - Hematocrit test the Percent of your blood that is occupied by red blood cells and is also a good indicator of anemia. Increased Hematocrit may indicate
1. Erythrocytosis - Dehydration
2. Profound diuresis
3. Hemoconcentration - Burn Injury/Trauma/Shock
4. Polycythemia Vera
5. High Altitude
A normal concentration of the enzyme amylase is in the range 21-101 U/L. A higher than normal test may indicate acute inflammation of the pancreas, macroamylasemia, perforated peptic ulcer, and mumps.
I'd suggest that you take these blood test results to your doctor for analysis, as only someone trained to read and interpret the tests can really help you.
