ok so my g/f and i have been worried she might be pregnant but today she got a blood test at her doctors appointment (which wasnt realted to this) and her test turned out negative. were a little skeptical about this though because she hasnt had her period yet and we cant tell if its late or not because she doesnt remeber the first day of her cycle, but we do know that she is supposed to get it like REAL SOON. Even if she hasnt had/missed her period yet would the blood test be able to tell if she is pregnant already??

What kind of blood test did she get? If it wasn't specifically for pregnancy, then they would not have tested for pregnancy on a general blood test for something else. Usually a pregnancy blood test takes awhile - they don't come back the same day...

Did she tell her doctor she hasn't had her period? Has she taken a Home Pregnancy Test (HPT)?

**Edited** If she has not missed her period she cannot test. Wait until she is due for or late on her period then get a pregnancy test. Use birth control. Condoms and birth control pills can be obtained free or very cheap at a family planning clinic (planned parenthood).

a blood test can be accurate as soon as 8 days after conception

If the blood test was checking for a possible pregnancy and she's nearing the time when her period is due, then it's near 100% effective.

well the blood test she got wasnt specifically for pregnancy, it was just a regular test to make sure everything is ok, but even if it wasnt specifically for pregnancy wouldnt they be able to tell if she was pregnant by finding traces of hCG in her blood?
and im pretty sure it isnt too late because even though she doesnt know what day her period started we do know that she had it during the 29th of last month meaning that she should have it like NOW, so im pretty sure were good on that lol

They wouldn't be looking for HCG in her blood if they weren't testing for pregnancy.

They don't randomly test for pregnancy.
