As I said, if an endocrinologist suspects
anything, the first thing he'll do is a 72
hour fast to rule out the chance of an
insulinoma (pancreatic tumour). The
condition is extremely rare so don't be
too concerned, especially as your blood
sugar isn't below 70 frequently.
Your symptoms could be any number of
conditions, they're common symptoms
unfortunately. Unless you're recording
blood sugars lower than 70 then it isn't
likely to be hypoglycemia related.
Have you tried altering your diet? This is
something you can do before a diagnosis is
made, as long as the changes aren't too
drastic, and it may actually help the
doctors. If there are any foods you find
cause symptoms, then avoid them. Typically
you'd be looking at a low carbohydrate
diet, getting your carbs from veggies - if
you feel better then you can explain to
your doctor what you avoided and what
symptoms alleviated.
If your diet is currently high in
carbohydrate (bread, rice, pasta,
potatoes, pizza and junk food) then I
would strongly recommend cutting down.
Anxiety and depression in people who are
sensitive to carbohydrates is quite
common, and it can be life consuming.
I'm sure your doctors will help you out
either way. Make sure you tell them as
much as you can, even if you don't feel
it's relevant. Good luck
