What causes the blood in the stool can not be told without further examination.
There are several possible causes for blood in stool. One of the most often is hemorrhoid. Ulcers in the colon might be causing this condition, too. Other more serious conditions have to be checked for.
Digital examination, anoscopy and sigmoidoscopy might confirm hemorrhoids. Colonoscopy (visual examination of the colon) might confirm or rule out colon ulcers or some more serious conditions.
The treatment that might be suggested would depend on the results from the examination.
