my partner is a regular at the gym and wrks out daily. The past week he was talking of pain in the tummy ,nd he says it is due to the weights he is been lifting and the past week he has been really wrkng out more. Two days ago after his wrkout he experienced the same pain nd later he spat out blood. What could be the reason ,i hope nothing serious ,i am really concernd for him

hello there..your friend sounds in need of medical attention and the sooner the better..bringing up blood can signal, lung or chest infetion, or even an ulcer so try talk him into seeing a doctor soon.

have you noticed other symptoms of fever, or bad cold/flu symptoms the past month or so? has he mentioned any other symptoms? i hope things go well for him and its nothing too serious.

I concur with Ioka. He needs to seek medical attention. I am a gym rat myself and I know how guys get when they are lifting. He could have torn something inside? If he is on any supplements or un-natural products to boost his workout this too can be a culprit. Does he smoke or drink? Spatting blood is not normal unless someone just knocked him in the mouth. Men are hardheaded I wish you luck.

thanks a lot for ur replies breck & loka, he hasnt had any cold or flu nd does not smoke or drink either , neither is he onto any supplements for his wrkouts, i can say he is pretty health conscious. he likes to eat a lotta meat though instead of veggies .my guess too was that he could have torn sumthng, much as i try to coax him he wudnt see a doc ,but he has promised to wrk out lighter for a while. wud that heal by itself if he wrksout lighter ?? or else i really wud have to push him to see a doc asap Sad

azharlee, are you 100% sure he is not on creatine? You do not have to answer. If he has torn something working out period will continue to agitate it. Tell him he either finds out whats going on so he can continue his workout or do it his way and possibly mess something up where the only exercise he will get will be lifting the remote control. So not kidding.

Creatine can be bought at GNC or any Health Food Store. It's a supplement.
