Yesterday while at breakfast I wiped my hand over the outside of my nose as it felt irritated. When I looked down I saw bright red blood on my hand. My family said that my nose was bleeding. They handed me a mirror and blood was seeping out of a pore on the side of my nose. I wiped the blood away and it kept bleeding heavily. I put pressure on it but when I'd stop it would continue to bleed heavily. It took about 10 minutes or so before the blood slowed down enough to clot. I left the little dried blood spot alone all day as I was afraid it would start up again if I messed with it.
As a side note my monthly cycle started the same morning a week early.
Any ideas what could cause this and should I be concerned?
This happened to me too - never happened before. I had no pimple - I didn''t scratch it - and I wasn''t on my period. I was riding in the car. We were going to the mountains - went from 6500 ft altitude to almost 10000 ft altitude. I thought maybe that might be the culprit. Mine was the same - bled out of a pore on the side of nose - took like 10 min. to stop with presure. I too, let the red dot alone because I was afraid it would start bleeding again. Any thoughts?
I've been researching this issue as well. Has happened to me about 3 or 4 times over the past 6 years. Happened again last night. Same thing, I wiped my hair out of my face and brushed my nose, started seaping heavily. Took 10-15 minutes of heavy preasure, hydrogen peroxide and alcohol before it quit.
I'm making an appointment with the dermatologist soon, this has been an ongoing issue, the pore has always been larger than the rest but after the first bleed it never healed back to normal.
Found a blog online with a picture that looked just like mine, same symptoms. Doctor response was that it could be a basal cell cancer and should be checked immediately. Well 6 years and I'm still ok but I'm gonna check it out anyway.
Same thing happened to me right now, for the first time ever. I tend to always worry in an exaggerated way, so of course I am here googling like crazy and saw this post. It's identical to my situation. I rubbed my nose and all if a sudden bleeding from what seems to be a pore (seems like a pinhole). As I sit here worried about some new form of dying or cancer, I am at least grateful that others take the time to post their symptoms as it gives me comfort each time I fear something grave has happened to me. I also googled something about basal camcer. Anyone know if I should worry about that? :/ #anxietysucks #thanksinadvance
