Hypertension and cholesterolemia, are both risk factors for heart diseases.
If your hypertension isn't severe, life-style changes among which will be a diet for lowering cholesterol (DASH diet) will help reducing the lipds and blood pressure at the same time.
If your blood pressure is very high, it will be important to control it, to avoid fatal complications.
Both, high blood pressure and high levels of blood cholesterol increases the cahnces for atherosclerosis.
