Hello and welcome to e health forum.
For your information, bleeding tendency and symptoms occur only when the platelet count is very âlow. The normal platelet count is 1.5 - 4.5 lakhs per cmm.
There are no specific ways to increase platelet counts, other than platelet transfusions. But such âtransfusions are done only when the platelet counts are very low (less than 20,000 platelets /cmm).
Once a person recovers from the underlying condition causing platelet destruction or reduced production, recovery proceeds in a slow manner. With time, the bone marrow expands , and increases the âproduction of platelets, in required amounts. But in some cases, the counts will still be lower, due to âanti-platelet antibodies, which may destroy the newly produced platelets.
Over time, as complete recovery occurs, your platelet count will normalize.
