Hi. Last Saturday I passed my 2nd kidney Stone. The first one was passed in 2006 and at that time the CT scan showed another one on the opposite side however was not moving glance Sooooo almost to the date, 2 years later, it decided to make it's way out!

I mountain bike alot and we'll I was in the woods mountain biking last Saturday when it decided to venture south! I ended up having my friends take me to the ER in South Ga! That was fun. I finally passed it (3mm) Saturday evening at home. Soooooo I thought that was the end of it. The CT scan that was done on Saturday showed no other stones!

So Monday and Tuesday I felt great. Tuesday night I go ride again and rode a great ride with friends. Wednesday I ride again some off road and in the middle of the ride I start feeling some sharp pains in my left lower groin area about right around where you would have "Diverticulitis or ovaries or the junction of your bladder and ureter"....

The pain continues to increase daily! By Thursday morning it's pretty bad and I go see my urologist. He does an ultrasound and says everything is clear..... He does a urine and we'll I can even see all the blood in my urine. It's so visable, they don't even have to do a culture Shocked They put me on Cipro 500 twice a day for 10 days and basically say it's an infection.

By Friday morning I can't stand up (And this is on 24hours of Cipro & percocet). It's getting worse. Soooooo I go see my primary care physician. I then realize that in the ER they did blood too and never gave me my results! So we get everything faxed over and this is what the abdormal stuff says:
Creatinine (H) 1.45 (should be .60-1.10)
WBC (H) 12.8 (Should be no more than 10.7)
Neutrophils (H) 84.4 (45.7-78.2)
Lymphocytes (L) 10.5 (12.9-43.4)
Monocytes (L) 3.1 (3.5-11.0)
Absolute Neutrophil (H) 10.8 (No more than 7.3)
Urine-So much blood you can see it in the cup clearly! Protein, Red, White, RBC, Bacteria, Squamous Cells too many to count

So my doctor has repeated all the blood work and we are waiting for the results hopefully on Monday however still 1 week after I passed the stone I'm still peeing alot of visable blood, again on Friday at my primary care physician.

They are really thinking that I might have another stone or something else wrong. I had diverticulitis about 2 years ago too. I just really wish we knew what was wrong?

Suggestions?

Hi
No real suggestions except to hang in there. Have they ever sent you to a specialist? A urologist or nephrologist might know more about this. Let us know how it turns out. Good luck.

Hi

It sounds like you have an infection either a UTI or kidney infection as a result of the stone, which can happen.

Did you get any other results back?

I'm wondering why your urologist didn't see it in the computer hospital files that you had blood drawn as well.... Question This bugs me. So often things get "overlooked"
It's too bad you suffered with more pain but it might have been a good thing because if it turns out to me an infection and it went untreated things could have gotten worse.

Hope you are feeling better.

Yes, it turned out to be an infection. I'm almost done with the Cipro but not quiet. The pain ended up getting so much better by Monday this week.

The reason why the urologist didn't see it was b/c I went to a hospital in South Ga because I was down there mountain biking when it happened. I live north of the city so about an hour away from each other. They are not connected.

The question is why didn't the hosptial give me results of blood that they took when I got there! Nobody even told me they ran a blood check... I found out 4 days after I left their hospital.... Because I called.

Blood in urine
Hello loviedovie,

Do you really want to solve that problem once and for all? Before your doctor puts you on some useless drug, let me suggest you talk to a friend of mine who solved that problem once and for all.
