Q: Blood Clot?

I've had this odd ache in the side of my thigh for about a month now that comes and goes. I have anxiety so my first thought was a blood clot.

I recently turned 26 and am healthy besides dealing with anxiety. I work at a computer most of the day.

Whenever I think it may be a blood clot I get to the brink of an anxiety attack. Is it possible to have a blood clot for over a month?

Doctors called hematologists have special training in bleeding disorders. They can help you find the best treatment options and help diagnosis possible problems.

Excessive blood clotting is a condition in which blood clots form too easily or don't dissolve properly. Signs and symptoms of a blood clot in the deep veins of the leg may include pain, redness, warmth, and swelling in the lower leg. These signs and symptoms may suggest deep vein thrombosis (DVT)

I'd suggest that you go first to your family doctor and request some basic tests: a physical exam, a family medical history and blood tests (Complete Blood Count and Platelet Count, Tests for Clotting Factors and Clotting Time) will help exclude or confirm blood clots. More info on blood clots here: excessive blood clotting. Then, if necessary, you can request to see a hematologist for follow up.
