I was wondering if taking nine active
pills of Yaz could cause a blood clot. On
the ninth day of it, (this was in the
middle of March), I got a cool feeling in
my chest and an annoying pang in my
shoulder. I was already a bit iffy about
being on BC, so I decided to stop. Since
then, I have had some five minute or so
periods where breathing seems more
difficult, and have had two cases of a
deep throbbing pain in my upper left
thigh. Oh, and one 5-10 minute time of
heart/chest pains. The last time I saw my
doctor was after stopping BC, and she
didn't seem too concerned by the chest
weirdness.
So, in short, can nine active pills have
given me a blood clot/should I be
concerned? Thank you.
Edit: For the record, I am an 18 y/o in
pretty good shape and am a non-smoker.

Unlikely, but yes, it is possible.
If you experience ANY of these symptoms,
tell your doc immediately:
ACHES warning signs:
If you have any of these warning signs
well on birth control, get to a doctor
asap. Especially the leg pain one (that's
what my doc said) These are signs of blood
clots and stroke.
# Abdominal pain
# Chest pain (also shortness of breath)
# Headaches (especially those that are
new, severe, or associated with persistent
dizziness, difficulty speaking,
fainting,numbness or weakness in
extremities
# Eye problems (blurred vision or loss of
vision)
# Severe leg pain (and/or redness and
swelling in the calf or thigh)
If you develop any of the ACHES side
effects or jaundice (a yellowing of the
eyes or skin) while on BCPs, call your
doctor right away. If you need emergency
medical attention, call the hospital. If
you are out of town, contact a local
health provider or go to a hospital
emergency room.
