hi everyone,
my grandma has blood discharged from her nipple and the area around her nipple was turned black... a medical checkup has done on her and the result was due to breast feeding to her child last time... is that possible that breast feeding will causes blood clot on the area near nipple and 20years later, there are blood discharged and the area turning to black???
thank you very much Smile

It is virtually impossible that your GM's remote history of breastfeeding, 20 years ago, has ANYTHING to do with her current breast symptoms, as you have described them. She should be referred to a surgeon with expertise in managing breast disorders. While it is impossible for me to render a specific diagnosis on a patient who I have never seen, the very brief description of her breast symptoms that you have offered is very concerning to me. Certainly, she needs to be further evaluated to rule-out the possibility of breast cancer. Please have her seen without further delay.

Dr. Robert Wascher, thank you very much for your reply.
My grandma had her checkup on her breast in a government hospital. The report obtained was the blood discharge and the area around nipple turning black were due to the blood clot on her breast. The blood clot formation was due to her improper breastfeeding on kids last time. So it is normal for the blood discharge so that the blood clot can disappear itself. The black area was about 4cm in diameter... the doctor's explaination made all of us curious and insecure...my grandma refuses to have another checkup... is there any similar cases of this? Is this possible that the blood discharge was due to blood clot?
Thank you very much for your reply again Smile
