Q: blood before period date

I am on the pill,I take it everyday and use condoms.I pulled some muscle tissues in my back and i've been aching.I thought a walk would maybe help..but it didn't, instead I got my period. I always get my period on the thursday and I got an hour of blood on monday.....what the heck?! I know i'm not pregnant,but that still confuses me why I would get it for an hour on monday
