Q: Blocked bile duct ?

I had a ercp for a blocked bile duct. They cut a muscle to let existing stones drain. However 2 months later Im having same symptoms exactly. pain white stools, major wieght loss (15 pounds in 2 weeks. The doc says my liver function is fine and it cant be the duct. Then what is it. Im so sick!

The symptoms you are experiencing could be due to pancreatitis, an inflammation of pancreas.
Actually, pancreatitis, is a major risk or complication following the ercp.
This condition, can be self limited and mild, but may also, require hospitalization.
These procedure can lead to trauma to the bile ducts, too, resulting in bile ducts blockage.

Ask your doctor for testing your pancreatic function!

i have had 5 ercps
Hello i hope you find this helpful i have had 5 ercps and have felt great for 3-4 weeks after each then all the sysmtoms come back.and bloodwork looks good. when they repeat the ercp i'm 99 percent blocked with scare tuisse they are know going to do a bileduct bypass. i was told by kaseir my insurance that this was not possible to grow scare tissue and i just want iv drugs, guess what it is the surgeon said its rare but in mycase it was it. my mircale worker dr. kenneth binnmoller at cal pacific in san fransico. i feel your pain dont give up i have been living this way for 10 years long road but afterthe bypass binnmoleller said 99 -100 better good luck
