Q: Bloating and painful sex
asked by: DoctorQuestion on December 11th, 2008
Every month after I get my menstrual about 8-10 days later, i get this bloating feeling. A sort of discomfort in my uterus area. If I push down or sit down improperly I feel pain. I feel as if i have to take a bowel movement but even when I do, I still feel like Im bloated. (I know so personal.) I dont even bother having sex on these days because its painful. Then the swelling just goes away by it self a day or two after. Whats going on with me?

It is hard to say what is going on with you but “bloating” and painful sex that goes away spontaneously after 1-2 days doesn’t sound serious. The time of the bloating corresponds with the time of ovulation. Maybe an ultrasound scan of the genital organs and a gynecological examination could provide us with more data about your condition.

You could consult your gynecologist about this.
