We burp, belch and fart an average of 12 times a day. But why do we have gas? And what is intestinal gas?...the basics here....
Intestinal gas forms from two main sources - swallowed air and bacteria in the intestine. Plus, learn which factors to avoid to decrease the likelihood of gas....
How much gas is normal? Usually symptoms of gas and flatulence are more bothersome than serious. But learn when you should seek help for excessive gas here....

gassy. Yuck. I began Lo24 this past Friday (the 1st day of my period) at the suggestion of MD to control heavy cycles. I've been off the pill for 4 years (since hubby was snipped) and the last pill I took was Estrostep for approx. 10 yrs. w/no side effects. I loved being on the pill b/c I knew the exact day I would start & finish my cycle.

I know it takes approx. 3 mths. for your body to get adjusted to a new BC pill, but I'm not enjoying this bloating/gassy feeling which I think is related to the Lo24. I hate & do not handle stomach issues very well. I'll take a bad headache over stomach problems any day. I chewed a GasX w/my pill last night thinking it might help, but no...... Has anyone else experienced this side effect & will it go away?

Also, with the hope of having easier, less painful & lighter cycles, I'm also attempting to have my cycle during the week so I can have my weekends free w/hubby & make travel plans w/o concerns of starting on a whim. Has anyone used the Fri. start & been successful w/having their period during the week & being "free" on the weekends? I'm trying to book a cruise in July around my cycle. Turn 40 & kids are grown you would think planning trips for fun time would be easier - LOL. Thanks in advance for any responses & suggestions.

Try taking the pill in the morning, not at night. Stomach issues can sometimes be related to WHEN you take the pill.

There is no way to predict when your period will come during the placebo week or how long it will last.

I didn't experience any of those symptoms while on the Loestrin, but I always took mine at bedtime because the pill has always upset my stomach.

At first, I had no period at all on the Loestrin, but when I finally started getting one, it was the first day of the iron tabs each time. But that was just my experience with it and it could definately be different for you.

Many women do not get their period until the 3rd or 4th pills.
