Q: Blisters

My three year old son has broken out in blisters, about nine on his left leg, two under his left butt cheek, three on his stomach on his left, a few on his left arm, a couple on his right arm, a few o his back, and one on his cheek, left side, but mostly on his leg. I took him in to see the doctor and they said it was eczema, but after looking at pictures on line, and the fact that the cream they gave me has not worked, I am doubting that answer. The blisters do not blend together to form patches of dry skin, they are blisters, alone, pop, scab, and become smooth red spots, that fade away, but another few comes. It seems to be non stop. When some fade, new blisters appear other places.

This is not eczema: you are very right, and I would definitely recommend taking him to another doctor for a second opinion. You might want to see a dermatologist for the best result. Whatever it is must be pretty painful and there is no reason why doctors should be brushing it off as something as simple as that.

He is not in pain all the time. When they blister it seems to hurt, but when they pop, he is fine and does not notice them. With our insurance, he can not see someone like a dermatologist with out getting a referral from a family doctor. This is why I need to see if I can figure out what it is on my own and go to the doctor and say, this is what it is, now please treat it.

The doctor should just give you a referral if you ask for it. I did a research online and saw a lot of people who don't know what condition it is either, so I'm at a loss to help you out myself. Some people said allergies, some bedbugs....That's all the help I can give you. Sorry...I hope you do get a referral and it clears up.
