Ok odd question but.. Every time i get a cold or flu or well i just got over pneumonia, i get weird blisters on my lips. my lips swell up and they throb. I'm not sure what it is its pretty ugly. Main thing is i dont know if its safe. I was suppose to see my bf this weekend but not sure if it would be safe to kiss him. I would go to the dr but i have a class today eh.. sucks..

Are Your Blisters Herpes Type 1?
It's highly likely that you have the herpes virus type 1. Well over 50% of people living in the United States have oral herpes so don't be alarmed. This virus is in almost all of us. You can get tested the next time you have a breakout but please don't kiss anyone while you are experiencing an outbreak and be careful not to touch your eyes or private parts after touching your lips. In fact, you really shouldn't be touching your sores at all unless you have washed your hands and are applying some type of ointment. Abreva works well for cold sores on lips. If you are curious as to why you always get them after sickness, take a look at this site that goes into greater detail.
