Q: Blister Type Spots

My 63 year old husband has been getting blister type spots for over a week. They flare up and are really itchy and then disappear until the next flare up. We thought it was chicken pox as my grandaughter had this over Christmas but the fact that the spots disappear and then return make me think it may be something else
