Has anyone else been diagnosed with having blepharoconjunctivitis (mine appears to be of a chronic nature, at least judging by my own levels of discomfort/pain over the last twelve months). I have also had floaters gradually increasing to a level serious enough to affect my vision, indicating I think a long term inflammation in my eyes.

I have been "dismissed" by the opthamologist again and told that it is something that I just have to put up with. However this time the FML (mild steroid) eye drops I've had before don't seem to be working very well. I have been taking them 3-4 times a day for over 6 weeks and when I saw the opthamologist last I had been using them for 4 weeks, and still he admitted there is inflammation in my eyes (as opposed to just the eyelid inflammation from blepharitis) but just gave me more FML drops as they have done before. I have also never had a proper eye examination they have just examined the surface of my eye to check there are no ulcerations.

I am really concerned about my eyes filling up with floaters due to the long term inflammation. The discomfort/redness and pain is less of an issue. It is really hard to access opthamologists where I live and I'd appreciate any information anyone else could offer.
