Q: Bleeding after sexual intercourse related to orgasms
asked by: DoctorQuestion on May 5th, 2009
When my girlfriend ejaculates after sex with me or on her own, she bleeds. Obviously she is very concerned about this. When she has seen her GP about this she just gets brushed off. Should she be worried?

Bleeding after sexual intercourse related to orgasms

The quantity of the lost blood might have been helpful. The time when the bleeding starts (immediately after intercourse, the next day) is also important.

It is possible that the reason for the lost blood after the female orgasm might have been vaginal walls damage if the bleeding starts immediately after sexual intercourse. It seems likely that changing the position might be helpful. Longer foreplay to increase the lubrication is also recommended.

If the bleeding occurs the next day after intercourse, it might be related to the hormones fluctuations.

In addition, the vaginal walls might be more susceptible to damage if vaginal bacterial or fungal infection is present. Your girlfriend might want to visit her gynecologist to check for vaginal infections and hormonal fluctuations.
