coming off birth control..

I had only taken birth control for 1 month, and was not happy with its side effects. I got my period a week before i came to the sugar pills. My period had stayed until i reached the sugar pills and that was the end of my pack. I didn't start a new month because I wanted to come off. I got my period on May 11 it is now May 26 and i am still bleeding. Some days heavy, some days not. Someone PLEASE help me and let me know whats going on!!! When will i stop bleeding?????
