i am 5 weeks pregnant, and i have been bleeding for a bit more than 2 weeks. i have been in the hospital 2x in the last week. the first time they did blood work and my bhcg was 9617 which they said was normal, the second time i went in because i had pain and the bleeding got worse, they did blood work again and my bhcg was 9786, they said it was supposed to be higher so it wasnt normal. they sent me for an ultrasaound yesterday, and the baby and the sac is there, but there was no heart beat. i have been told that it might still be to early for a heart beat. but i would like to get other opinions on this, i am going to see my family doctor today.

I had a similar situation occur with me. Around week 5 I started getting some light bleeding and cramping. Didn't think that was normal so I went to emergency. They tested by blood and said that the levels seemed ok and that everything seemed fine. Then a few days later I was back in emerg with heavier bleeding and cramps. They said that my blood levels were not raising enough per day and there was a god chance of a miscarriage however the baby still had a heartbeat. I went on two weeks of bed rest to sure as I really wanted a baby. Another ultrasound showed that there was a large hematoma filling a space right beside the fetus. They said that the body will either reabsorb the blood or the blood will keep pooling and eventually push out the fetus. A few days later I miscarried.
I know you mentioned you were going to visit your doctor today, I hope everything is ok and that it doesn't meet the same fate as my own. If you have any questions i can help with please let me know.
Best.
