i am on birth control and have 11 days left of my active white pills. i had sex with a condom on the last day of my period, and sex with a condom wednesday night. Now, i am bleeding. the bleeding started out brown and now is bright red, like my period. I have no signs or symptoms of pregnancy. What is this breakthrough bleeding!? I also had very bad diarrhea friday which I have heard can make my pill not absorb properly, and do not take my pills at the exact same time each night (normally between 8-9:30 though). I am also just started a new birth control pill and it is my second month on those new pills. what is wrong with me????

Cheergurl, breakthrough bleeding can be a normal side effect of new pills for the first few cycles.

Why on earth will you even be thinking about pregnancy after having sex with a condom on and being on the pill at the same time?

Take care!

I'm having this same issue, my period has been starting almost a full 2 weeks early and continues on until the week I am supposed to get it and then it is extremely heavy. this is is the third month now, I'm starting to get nervous about it.

RaspberryKiss, why do you not talk to your doctor? It sounds like you are bleeding for 3 weeks and then have just 1 week off. Just the opposite of how it should work.

Remember to take iron supplements to replace what you are losing.

Best of luck.
