Q: Bleeding hemorrhoids and prolapsing tissue

My doctor recommends that I have hemorrhoid surgery. He has explained three options - traditional hemorrhoid surgery, stapling procedure and the new THD. I like the THD because it is supposed to be less painful. My questions are - what do you know about THD and do you recommend it? Thank you, Classy.

THD hemorrhoidectomy
I had THD and it was wonderful! I had stage 3 to 4 internal hems and they are gone!! Had this done June 16th. It was outpatient on sedation only, no pre-surgery clean out, ate anything I wanted afterward, mild pain meds for a few days. Any questions you want me to answer?

There are complications reported for stapling and recurrance rate is pretty high. Also, that procedure does not actually remove the hems, only lifts up the intestine by cutting out a ring of it and then possibly interrupting the blood supply to the hems. The blood vessels have been known to re-establish themselves.

As you know traditional hem surgery is extremely painful. Most doctors won't do it.

Has your doctor done THD? I wonder why he would even suggest any other procedure, then...This is simple, quick and effective!Ireally can't say enough about how happy I am with the results!

Good Luck!
