I am an 18 yrs old female, and I have been
getting terrible abdominal pain. I'm
feeling really bloated and gassy, and my
bowel movements aren't normal.
In the morning i feel really nauseous and
the pain is worse, i am defiantly NOT
pregnant so that cant be the cause. I also
get bad diarrhea in the morning and find
myself running for the bathroom. Also I
have bleeding from my rectum but its just
on the toilet paper, and have found a
mucus type liquid coming out too.
I'm constantly filled with air ( i.e.
bloating like a balloon) and I am burping
a lot and my stomach is constantly making
noises. I am not overweight a I eat
extremely healthily. could anyone
help?

Bleeding from the rectum should be taken
very seriously. You have to find out where
exactly the blood is coming out from. It
could be hemorrhoids but there also can be
inflammation or a tumor causing the
bleeding. Bloody and mucous diarrhea could
indicate bowel inflammation (infective or
non-infective).
You need several diagnostic procedures to
diagnose your problem:
1. Stool examination: copro-culture,
occult blood test, nutrients detection
and others ;
2. Standard blood tests (blood count,
hemoglobin, sedimentation…) and specific
(for celiac disease, food allergies,
infections, etc.) ones;
3. Abdominal ultrasound;
4. Digital rectal examination and,
5. Endoscopy (upper and lower).
You may want to consult a
gastro-entero-hepatologist about this.
