Q: bleeding for more than 2 weeks

Hi, I had medical abortion on June 9th.

On my follow-up visit on June 16th, the Doctor told me I had passed the pregnancy but ultrasound showed there were still some fluid(blood) in my uterus. She said I am Ok.

But I've been spotting( the amount of discharge is between spotting and bleeding ) for almost 2 weeks and I have read some articles on this forum, it seems more than 2 weeks spotting is not normal.

My question is that do I need another follow-up or I just wait for another week or two? By any chance I might need a surgery?

Thanks! I am really concerned.

You ARE normal...

I work in abortion.

Surgical abortion is better than medical abortion because the bleeding after surgical abortion is NOTHING....

The bleeding after medical abortion lasts from 9-21 days.

SPOTTING is normal, and you may spot until your period. This is the problem with medical abortion, there is going to be lengthy bleeding, but if it is NOT heavy then you are okay.

Thanks! That relieves me a lot!

Shall I schedule an appointment if I don't get period in the following month?

Not necessarily...

It can take 6-8 weeks after an abortion to get a period, because your body has to figure things out again. It has to get in synch with it's hormones...

Give it some time...

Also, physical activity is DIRECTLY related to abortion bleeding. The more active you are, the more you will likely bleed.

I stopped bleeding and spotting 12 days after the abortion pill.

But I started to have very light pink thick discharges. Is it normal ?
