I have been bleeding for 4 and a half weeks now and no end in sight. Most days are light, however a few days out of the blue it will get heavy. No cramps, some dull pain in lower left back area, however not consistent. I am overweight and would like a suggestion of what it may be. I was taking prenatal vitamins, however discontinued after this ongoing period. Any help or answers of why this is happening will be greatly appreciated. In between doctors, due to a recent move.

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
Prolonged bleeding or continued spotting could be indicative of various causes like hormonal imbalances, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, bleeding polyps, stress, thyroid issues etc. You should consider visiting your gynecologist for a thorough examination, hormonal & blood work-up and ultrasound scan to identify the underlying cause and get started on definitive treatment soon.
