hello everybody.
I am REALLY worried I might have cervical cancer. About 2 months ago I had a smear test and it was quite painful. About a week after I started bleeding although I wasn't on my period. My ginecologyst said it was probably nothing that I should wait and see if it stopped with the next box of pills. It didn't. A month later I went to my GP because the bleeding hadn't stopped. I had my period as usual but I kept bleeding although it was not as heavy as before. The GP had another smear test done and checked if there was an infection. I got the results last Friday and he told me everything was fine. He said the bleeding is probably the result of a bad first smear test BUT I keep bleeding, specially after intercourse. HOW CAN IT BE NOTHING? there MUST be a reason for it, musn't there? Help please. Don't know what else I can do

I know that bleeding inbetween periods is sometimes normal but if you are still worried then i would go back to another doctor and see what their opinion about it is or even go to your local GUM clinic, they specialise in sexual health but it can sometimes be hard to get an appointment, you could even ask your doctor to refer you to the Gynacolgy department in your local hospial to put your mind at ease. Hope that helped
