Q: bleeding at 5 1/2 weeks

I started spotting at the beginning of the 5th week of my pregnancy. The next morning I woke up to a small puddle of blood. That day I bled like I was having a mild period. I could not fill a pad in an entire day but it was more than spotting. There were tiny clots also. Every time I go to the bathroom I see blood when I wipe. This has been going on for 3 days now. I am having NO pain. I am not 6 weeks for 2 more days so an ultrasound would be pointless. The doctor said the only thing we can do is measure hCG levels. I had my blood drawn today & will have it drawn again the day after tomorrow to see if the levels have doubled. All of my pregnancy symptoms have disappeared within the last 2 days.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how did it turn out?

I have been in touch with a doctor since the day I started bleeding. The bleeding started Friday night so I had to wait until Monday (today) to get my blood drawn. Doctors never said it was necessary to go to the hospital over the weekend.

more..
I called the doctor for my hCG level results today. My level was 3. I guess it is almost over. Sad

I will leave my post up here in case anyone else is going through a simliar situation. I really needed to find someone who was going through this so maybe this post will be helpful to someone else. Maybe it will let someone else know how truly lucky they are if they go through this & continue to carry the baby. Or maybe it will help someone come to terms a little easier and know that they are not alone in this. Love to you all.

Thank you Kyra. Time seems to be standing still since this happened. This event has pretty much consumed my life. But that's okay. I loved that baby very much, even though I never got to meet her.
