A friend of mine bled on and off quite a lot through the first half of her pregnancy and all was fine. I'm not sure what the cause was; what does your doctor/midwife say?

I know it must be worrying but don't assume the worst.

Hi I am reading these posts as this is exactly what my son is going through TODAY!! It is scarey and no one particularly some dotors help. If they were in your shoes at the time they would know how it feels. In my expierance I to bled in that first trimester. turns out I had placenta previa....meaning the placenta acts as a "plug' keeps the baby up in the uterus. Sometimes this grows a little to the side not closing the iterus off very well. Feet up and bed rest!! The placenta "in most cases" corrects itself. Unfortunately in mine it didn't and lost a one twin. this happened when I picked up a grocery bag and the weight caused my stomach to spasm. Bed rest got me through the rest of the labour...buttttt!! my head was always doing cartwheels. I was scared silly. It now hurts today to have my 20 year old son phone me to ask what he can do because is fiance is now bleeding after a plane flight for her work. I can only pray for her and her baby...best of luck to you all and I hope this helps someone.
