Hello Dr.

I am a 32 year old woman and had my first pap smear test day before yesterday (Monday). I did not bleed on the day of the test but from the next day (tuesday) morning onwards I have been bleeding continuously. The flow started light and has since then increased to be like a regular menstrual flow. The color of the blood is fresh, bright red (not dark) and there are some tiny blood clots once in a while. I had my period for this month already so I am very very scared about the bleeding. I also had cramps for several hours on Tuesday which has subsided by and large by now.

Is this normal? I am terrified and do not know what I should do? I have to travel outside my city for a major meeting and will be driving. I donot want any complications on my trip. Please help!!

well if your really worried about it go to the gyno again, but i think you just got your period again, i know you said you already had it but, periods arent always regular, sometimes they skip and sometimes they come early... especially since you said you had cramps it sounds like you just are having a period... im only 18 and ive had a pap smear test and nothing bad happenned afterwards... i hope this helps you out a little bit
