I have had a hysterectomy at least 6 months ago or longer. Every time I have sex I bleed. Sometimes it is light and last for weeks. And other times it is light but a lot and only a day or two. I need to know whats wrong.
Also one more problem. My OB-GYN told me that I will never have to had a pap again. Others said yes I will because of other problems. Well my OB-GYN said at the top of my virginia on the in side, he sewed it up all the way across. Is this normal or is it a new kind of hysterectomy? Can anyone help?

First, I can tell you that you will need a Pap smear...I was surprised about this too...This is probably true because there is tissue at the top of our vagina's and like everything else on our body is open to disease....As far as the bleeding when you are having sex, that is not normal...After this much time you should not be doing this....There is something wrong when this is happening...You will be sewn up after a Hysterectomy if your cervix is removed...If it wasn't you won't...This is why the bleeding that you are doing should not be happening...It should be a closed wound...

I hope this helps...I would definitely have this checked out...

I've had a hysterectomy, but I still have my ovaries. Its been about 4 years now. I had sex once since and didn't bleed. But I had sex for the second time, a little rough. Will that cause a woman to bleed. It stopped the next day. It wasn't like I needed to wear a pad. I had spotting. Is that normal if u have a little rough sex every now and then?

Hi Healthyone1one....Depending upon what you do is what you consider rough sex...Also was your cervix replaced...Without knowing if you had abdominal surgery or how much work was done I couldn't answer this...What I would suggest is to keep yourself lubricated...By this I mean masturbate in between sexual relations...Don't let yourself dry up...If this spotting continues I would tell my OB-GYN about it on my next appointment...Take care...
