Q: bleeding after sex pcos diagnosis

this really bothers me, and i hope you could help me out.

why is it that i bleed after having sex? it's been 4 days since i had sex, and now am still bleeding. right after having intercourse, i saw blood in the tissue when i wiped. now (after 4 days), there's still blood and am even using sanitary pads. there's not much blood, though, but i'm bleeding!

the first time this has happened was about 4 weeks ago when i had spotting 2 days after having sex. spotting, spotting for 9 days until i went to my doctor and she gave me bc pills. i took one and the spotting stopped. but i had to stop taking the bc pills because i had an allergic reaction. (the doctor said my spotting was because of pcos).

so 4 days ago i had sex again but this time i bled right after doing it, and i still do. this time it's not just spotting but bleeding.

i have polycystic ovaries, like i said. does this have anything to do with what's happening to me? or is this something really alarming? will the bleeding just stop?

am 32 by the way. unmarried and never had kids.

hope you can give me more ideas or info about this. and advice, too. thanks Shocked

Menstrual irregularities ARE a symtpom of PCOS. If you suspect a functional disorder of the cervix, I'd suggest that you visit you GYN. When was your last annual?

had my last annual nov/07. results were good, except that i had mild cervicitis, something which isn't really serious, my gyn said. i do suspect my current problem has to do with my cervix as well.

anyway, i just called my doctor and made an appointment for tomorrow. talked for a few mins and found out that there are cases like mine. here's hoping this isn't something alarming.

another thing which bothers me is that i've been allergic to all the meds my gyn gave me. but wud just have to take one issue at a time i guess.

thanks, rooted. appreciate ur reply.

Super. Good for you. I'm glad to hear that you're following up. To prepare for your appointment, try to create a calendar of the dates you think your period STARTED in the past year. This is a good practice to stay in, so that you can identify irregularities immediately...and it can help in diagnosis, as well.

i was about to have my follow up with my gyn yesterday, but the morning of that day, my bleeding stopped.

so should i go to my gyn anyway? i was thinking that maybe i was kinda just injured or something when i had sex, so the bleeding. not that it was rough, though.

what could the bleeding have been, and why did it stop anyway?

Right --- go anyway. You can explain the symptoms to the GYN and get possible explanation from the expert! Then, come back and share your experiences and findings!

hello.

am back and am bleeding again, but not as neurotic about it as i was before. menstrual irregularities these are because of pcos like you said, rooted.

it's just that it had actually been more than 3 years since i had my last period and this is kinda new to me (again).

thanks again.
