Vaginal Bleeding, hurts to pee after sex
i have a similar feeling all the time after having sex. I feel like i get cuts in my vagina or on the inside edges around it, and then it hurts when I pee after because it stings the cuts. i don't know if they are actually cuts or if it is something else. I end up having to pee every few minutes, hardly anything comes out, and it burns. I looked it up in a book and it says a couple of things:

"If you suddenly have to urinate every few minutes and it burns like crazy even though almost nothing comes out, you probably have cystitis. There may also be blood in the urine (hematuria) and pus in the urine (pyuria). You may have pain just above your pubic bone, and sometimes there is a peculiar, heavy urine odour when you first urinate in the morning."

"Cystitis is an inflammation and/or infection of the bladder. Sometime in her life nearly every woman gets it."

"It usually means that intestinal bacteria...useful in the digestive tract, have gotten into the bladder ... the symptoms can be really frightening, but it is not a serious condition."

"If these symptoms develop, you should see a doctor, although the infection may disappear without treatment. You can help relieve the symptoms before you see the doctor:"

by drinking lots of water, enough to get a good stream of urine out every hour (it hurts less and really helps);

by avoiding coffee, tea, alcohol and spices, which irritate the bladder;

by soaking in a hot bath two or three times a day;

by putting a hot water bottle or heating pad on your low back, if it hurts.

That's what the book says about it hurting to pee. It may be something else though, like herpes, so go see a doctor. The book says "herpes appears as painful sores which look like small bumps" in or around the vagina, thighs, or butt. They can rupture and are contagious, so go see a doctor. I don't know if mine is herpes or cystitis or something else, but I'm going to try to find a family doctor, get it looked at and get a pap test and all that. For me sex hurts every time and it may just be a lubrication or size problem causing chaffing or cuts. I don't know why, and although these forums are helpful to make you feel more comfortable and supported, self-diagnosis is never good.

Go see a doctor.

If you want to look up the book I have, it is an old copy of "Our Bodies, Our Selves: A book by and for women" by The Boston Women's Health Book Collective, Simon and Schuster publishers, New York, copyright 1971, 73, 76. I don't know if there is a newer version but the info is still useful.
