Q: Bleeding after pregnancy test
asked by: Jules on March 26th, 2008

Was all excited this morning cos I got my first positive result on a test. Texted my best friends and chatted to my mum about how happy I was.

Now I'm bleeding a lot.

Sad

Have left a message on the answerphone of the community midwife but she's not working til Friday so not sure if I'll hear from her today. My sister in law is a nurse so I've just been speaking to her. She says is probably a miscarriage but some people bleed in pregnancy.

I really think my little bean is gone though and I'd only just found out for sure he/she was there.

I feel so silly for being so upset because I'm so early on but I can't stop crying.

So sorry. I would definitely try and get an appointment with your doctor, or go the emergency room.

I think you need to go to the ER. It might be that your progesterone level is too low and all you need is a supplement.

I've got an appointment at th doctor's for 6pm this evening, I need to be referred to the early pregnancy unit but needs to be done through GP. Chances are though tha because I'm so early on, there's going to be nothing I can do.

Think I will move this topic to the miscarriage forum as I don't ant to upset people here who are pregnant.

Just back from doc and he was pretty matter of fact about it all. He said it looked like a miscarriage and there wasn't anything I could do about it other than sit it out and hope for the tiny chance it would be alright. He said it was only a cluster of cells at this point so just to treat it like a late period. Spoken like a true man. Yes, it is only a cluster of cells but, to me, it is my baby and represents so much more.

Thanks for your replies ladies, I appreciate them.
