Hi. I am 34 years old and I had a laparscopic hysterectomy one week ago. I was doing very well with only soreness until I think I over-worked myself in the yard watering flowers last night. I try to take it easy but it is hard when I am a mother of two and my husband is away at work most of the week. I am starting to regret surgery because I didn't know recovery would be so hard and my oldest child resents the extra work. I had a hysterectomy because I had very heavy cycles and a mildly prolapsed uterus. Today I woke up with increased spotting and cramping. I am very scared. I called my doctor but I couldn't get past the receptionist. She told me it was normal to have bleeding, especially after increased activity. I am afraid I tore a suture or something. It is not heavy bleeding but it is continuous and I see blood every time I urinate. I had very little, if any, spotting before today. Is it normal to start bleeding one week afterwards? Should I make an appointment to see the doctor sooner than my follow-up appointment...which is in 7 days?
