Hi Lori41 and welcome to ehealth: You should not bleed after a Hysterectomy....Are you seeing an OB-GYN?...If they do not find anything then see a Proctologist...This should not be happening...Have you had a Pelvic Test each year?...This again should happen seeing you still have your cervix and ovaries...Please stay on top of this...Take care...

partial hysterectomy
I had a partial hysterectomy 5 months ago and today is the second time I have had mild bleeding (today was after sex). It is mild and a little brown color to it too. Is this normal at all ?

Hi Lisa1965 and welcome to ehealth: This could be from your cervix if they left this in...Possibly some tissue was not gotten out...If this continues I would see your OB-GYN as he/she may have to cauterize a raw area...As far as being normal, they say you should not bleed after 6 weeks, but seeing I am not in the medical field, I cannot say for sure...If you want to address this question to Ask A Doctor at the top of this page you will be able to get a medical answer...Not to worry as you are really on top of it...Please be sure and get a pelvic exam every year....Take care...
