Q: Bleeding after implant insertion

I had the implant put in around 6 weeks ago. Since that time I have been bleeding. Its not enough to not use a tampon but its also not enough to fully cover the lightest flow tampon and its often difficult to take out. I am worried for a start about risk of infection for using a tampon for this length of time but are there any other things I should be worried about?

I am going to give the implant 3 months and it I haven't stopped bleeding by then , I am going to take it out as it is also affecting my sex life.

Hon -call your doctor about this and see what the doctor says..I wouldn't want to be using a tampon for so long..Can you use a thick lining pad instead of Tampon?..I hope you get this taken care of soon-I would also be concerned of infection..KD

I guess I could use a pad but I really don't like them. Just a personal preferance as I find them uncomfortable.
I have been taking the pill aswell to try and get my periods back in order... or stop them completely... but this doesn't seem to be working either. I'll probably go to the docs in a few weeks if it hasn't settled down.

Using a thin liner may be uncomfortable at first, but it really isn't that bad once you get used to it. I would also call the doctor about the possible effects of what you are using/implant and what you should expect/are experiencing.
