Bleeding a year after hysterectomy

Get in to see your OB-GYN...This is not normal...You are bleeding somewhere inside and it must be taken care of...Don't put this off....

Did you ever go to the doctor, what did you find out? I'm having the same problem and went to doctors after first time it happened to Gyn and primary care, neither knew. Now it is happening again and am planning to have doc check hormone levels, wondering what else I should have them look at.

Sometimes it is difficult for the surgeon to gauge wether he has removed all of the cervix. As this is made up of uterine tissue and you have retained your ovaries it is still possible to bleed every month.

After 6 weeks has elapsed, a person who has had a Hysterectomy should go back to their OB-GYN if they have any additional bleeding....When your Uterus is gone, you should not bleed...Take care..

I am 40 and had a hysterectomy a year ago, this year I started bleeding. Went to my OBGYN and there was still a stitch that had not dissolved yet, so then it dissolved now I'm having a discharge which they say is granulation tissue. They put something on it which was suppose to make it stop but it has been a little over 3 weeks now. I am frustrated any advice anyone.

Hi mcneilb and welcome to ehealth: This should not happen...When I had a problem similiar to this, it was cauterized...I would definitely check back and not let this go...Take care...

I TOO,HAD A HYSTERECTOMY ALITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO AND IM EXPERIENCING SPOTTING.UTERUS IS GONE .DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO.REALLY IM A LITTLE SCARED.THIS IS NOT NORMAL
