Q: Bladder urgency and Phytoestrogen ?

Hi,

I've had a problem for a couple of years. Untreated, this is it. It progresses.

At first, when I have to pee, I have to pee BAD. Super urgent.

As this goes on, when I get near the toilet, I pee a little in my pants, I just can't fully hold it until I get my pants down. The whole urgency thing seems much worse when I'm just about to pee.

Then finally, untreated, I get an urgency to pee, I may not make it more than a few steps, I simply pee my pants.

I have been treating this with tofu - for the phytoestrogen. It is a self-treatment, I guessed it off the internet and it worked.

I know if I eat 9.5 oz of silken tofu every day (usually for breakfast), I have NO PROBLEMS at all. Not even urgency. I don't know that I need to eat THAT much tofu - but it does work, and it's a half-pack, so it's kind of handy.

Problem is, I am fed up with eating that much tofu. Just sick of it. So, I look up phytoestrogen, and I see that flax seed is very high in it. Could I maybe just use flax seed?

I wonder if anybody else is successfully eating their way around a estrogen related urinary problem.

If you do - what do you eat? How much of the key ingredient a day?

OK, the amount for you might be different for me. I apparently have enough estrogen to have monthly periods, but not enough to control my urinary muscles.

Also, is it POSSIBLE to get past this with Kegel exercises? Frankly, off tofu, I find it just about impossible to do the exercises. I bought a "Myself" machine. Maybe it's not right for me? I have no problems with sex, so I'd think I have some muscle tone....

Thanks for your help,

Nancy

bladdr problem
holy krap. So.. Im 18 YEARS OLD and im having bladder problems.

At first, i thought it may have been a returning UTI since i got those a lot after having sex.
i only have one partner, but it seems to always happen that way.
so i bought 2 bottles of cranberry supplements, and ate it like candy.

it went away.
but like you said, at first it was bad; i'd pee in my pants a little.
then it got worst, and now i've just peed in my pants.
humiliating isn't it? even if it's with myself.

i have no idea what's going on, and am getting paranoid that it might be bladder cancer or... a permanent case of stress inconsistance or w/e that disorder is called.
HELP PLEASE.

I'm 21 years old and I have the exact same things. But never pain when I go pee, just bad urges, and even if I plan to go before say driving a long distance, it could be 20 mins before I have to go again. I've never liked the taste of tofu either.... wonder if there are other home remidies?
