Hey ladies. Has anyone ever had bladder prolaspe after birth? If so whats your story and how did you and your doctors handle it.

I had a week valve and bladder problems before baby. Surgery was a recommendation to fix my problems. But then I became pregnant and all treatment stopped. Well after the birth of my 1st baby I got bladder prolaspe. The anterior wall of my vagina is protruding at the opening. My previous bladder issues are now worse.

Since Im nursing medication is a problem. I cant take most of them. Surgery might also be out if I want more childern..which I do. The doc said the 1st repair is the best repair.

so im stuck and a little depressed. The doc said the possibilities of having a prolasped uterus after my 2nd child is high. This scares the crap out of. Now im worried about miscarriage or preterm labor. Are my risks really higher. Am I done having kids? Will my organs survive another birth. I always wanted a big family with at least 3-4 kids. Now I feel like my dream is smashed. Im ok with at least a daughter. Hubby and I are seriously considering only having one more since my body didnt handle the 1st one very well.

so im just looking for some input and maybe some encouragement. Just thinkinh about all this has me a little depressed. I feel cheated.

However im thankful to have experienced motherhood at least once.

thanks

Pregnancy, childbirth or being too heavy can stretch and weaken muscles that support your pelvic organs. Are you overweight? If so, you can address this.

Prenatal and postpartum Kegel exercises (tightening of the pelvic floor musculature as if trying to interrupt urine flow) help to strengthen the muscles and reduces the risk of uterine prolapse, so you might want to start practicing these exercises.

With proper precautions (periodic check-ups and cleaning), vaginal pessaries can be effective for many women with uterine prolapse. Surgery, if done, usually provides excellent results, however, some women may require treatment again in the future for recurrent prolapse of the vaginal walls.

I'd suggest that you follow your doctor's advice...do you think that you'll get the surgery?

Im not overweight and never have been. Im 133 lbs and 5' 3"

Before I gave birth I was 176. Could the drop in 40 lbs be part of the reason? I had some extensive tests done before I got pregnant. So my doc asked me to get all the records and then he will exmine me to see what he can do. I will probably go in someitme this week. Hes a gerat doctor and he seems to want to stay away from surgery if he can.

The only way I willl go for the surgery is if he tells me having more kids would be dangerous to me and my babies. Im only 22 and Im just way too young for this. I mean whats gonna happen when Im 50. So I guess I will just have to wait and see what he thinks once he gets the whole picture. I hear surgery works well. But I want another child so I will probably wait until im done having children. I would hate to have surgery and then ruin it by giving birth.

well its all in Gods hands he knows whats best. Thanks for the reply

Yes, please let us know if the doctor recommends surgery BEFORE or AFTER another child. And congratulations! I love the pic of the new little one. Smile
