I have hypertension and some days are worse than others. Yesterday my bp was 161 over 104. I felt horribly light-headed and had a bad headache in the back right side of my head. I had taken my Benicar HZT that day, as usual, but, some days... Anyway, I awoke this morning with a black right eye, right along the bottom lid. Could these be related?

I am not sure if the high blood pressure you experienced caused your black eye, but here is what I do know:

-High blood pressure can cause blood vessels to burst and bleed throughout the body, including in the actual eyes themselves and can cause blindness

-Severe headaches associated with high blood pressure should not be taken lightly as it could be a sign of an aneurysm or stroke

All things considered I would highly suggest talking to your doctor ASAP!!!
