Q: Black discharge after period

I am 34 years old and trying to conceive. I had a normal period ending on the 11th. Had sex on the 16, 17, 18 and 20th. Today I have a very black discharge (lighter than a period) and when I go to the bathroom sometimes I have black clumps. What is going on? I have never had this happen before. It would be too early for a miscarriage, correct? We were so hoping this would be the month……

Don't count yourself out yet, the month isn't over! Sounds like leftover blood that got bumped around during all the sex you've been having!

I hope you get a positive soon!

Thanks. Today when I woke up the black discharge is really heavy. It is more like a period and I started cramping. It is not as black but is still dark brown. What is going on with me?

I just read this...

A black discharge vaginal could indicate cell abnormality, which may then require a LEEP procedure if ASCUS is detected. Dark flow that is reported sometimes may stem from a rapid change in the progesterone production. Ovarian imbalances lead to accumulation of blood in the reproductive system that turns dark when oxidized and is expelled by the vagina.
