Q: Black bit in stool

I've heard that black in stools can indicate bleeding.

I generally have normal stools, (so sorry to be gross) i go everyday. And a few times a week i notice.. black bits.. like pea sized- thats what stands out.. i have noticed specs aswell but not alot.

I've read if babies have black in their stools in might be down to bananas- is this the same in adults?
I do eat ALOT of bananas!

Thank you

I would think that if it were bleeding it would be general colour all over if there were pea sized or strands it would more likely be vegetable matter like leafy greens or possibly even banana as it oxidises fast in a acid environment & is acid forming in it's self.
