I have also had the same problem for a couple of days, and I had actually eaten pine nuts three days ago. I hope that is the cause. Chocolatexoxo, have you solved the problem?

Pine nut taste disturbance
It may help to gargle with salt water. I ate pine nuts (likely from China since they were much cheaper than from other stores) in a pesto three days ago and beginning the next morning, everything tasted foul and bitter taste was left at the back of my throat. Chewing gum helped (while chewing) and gargling with salt water made the taste go away immediately (though it came back when I ate or drank anything) and may have helped it go away faster, as I'm on day 3 and it's almost gone.

Bitter taste in mouth after eating pine nuts
I have had the same problem after eating pine nuts in a pasta dish I cooked 3 days ago. At first I was puzzled that only I had the problem with the bitter taste and not the 4 other people who also ate the meal. I then remembered that I had eaten a handful of the nuts straight from the packet before toasting the rest in the frying pan and putting them in the pasta. I guess that was my downfall!

Bitter Taste in Mouth
11-09: I too have a bitter taste and did eat pine nuts the day before. I eat fresh pesto at least once per week and this is the first time with this issue. I did eat the new brand (I think it is Diamond, from Sam's club) and had this condition the next morning, so perhaps it's related. It's my 3rd day and it's a bit less pronounced today. Seems you can't get pine nuts NOT from China... that's scary. But I love pesto, so it's a trade-off. Hope this goes away, it sucks.

I had a foul taste when I ate my muesli this morning - I thought maybe the fresh raspberries were mouldy? Then at luch my cheese and tomato sandwich tasted off, especially the tomatoes. Just now I had a slice of jam and bread and boy did that taste foul. The bad (metallic) taste now lingers at the back of my mouth. I've googled this and as I have no other symptoms I drew a blank until I found this website... 3 nights ago I went out to dinner to an Italian restaurant and I was the only one in the group who had a salad laced with pine nuts! Bingo! Of course, I have no idea if the nuts were Chinese, and I've eaten pine nuts for years without problems, until now. I just hope that the symptom goes away soon! If not, then maybe I had beeter go see my dentist!?

Finding pine nuts that AREN'T from China... Bitter taste issue.
Funny thing is, I can't find pine nuts that are NOT from China in the standard grocery stores. I guess I'll have to look harder since I make/eat pesto often. Maybe at the health food store. The USDA doesn't seem to give a darn anymore and I don't trust ANYTHING made in China anymore. In the mexican section they have 'pinones' which I think is the same thing. Maybe those are from USA?

Good thing is the bitter taste has pretty much gone away after about a week.

Just checked the pinenuts in my kitchen cupboard and they are indeed chinese! But I've eaten them with no ill effect, so either the ones I ate in the restaurant were a bad batch or... maybe it's something else? Today I have a coated tongue and a lot of mucus in my nose/back of my throat. So I'm beginning to think it's a viral infection. Whatever it is, I hope it clears up soon - eating has become so unpleasant! (By the way, I live in the UK.)

Just to add that after about 3 or 4 days the bitter taste wore off - now completely back to normal.
