I was bitten by something last night while I was sleeping. When I woke up I tried to grab whatever it was so I could see what kind of insect it was but it started stinging or biting me. It burned like someone had put fire to my face. When I looked in the mirror the spot was red so I put some alcohol on it and some antibiotic ointment. When I woke up this morning the spot was still (and still is) burning. I also had 2 black marks at the sight along with two smaller ones. I am feeling nauseas and dizzy. I went to the emergency room but they were no help. Anybody have any idea what it was that bit me? The sight where I was bitten is now swollen and the eye right over the bite location is now burning also.

Hello, and thanks for your medical question on E Health Forum.

From the history and the description the possibility to know what exactly might have bitten you is diffcult. But it seems that the site is inflammed due to secondary bacterial infection.

Your pain might subside by regular application of ice packs and use of ibuprofen.

If symptoms worsen with onset of severe pain, change in color of the wound, etc seek immediate medical attention for medical treatment and oral antibiotics.

I hope this helps.
