I have been bitten about 12 times over the past two weeks. Hand, ankle, neck, thigh, about 2 bites each time.
The bites cause pretty serious swelling and take a few days to go away. I think it's mosquitos but don't know
how to be sure. It only happens at night. I have no screens and having been trying to sleep with the window
closed and wear bug spray. I don't think it's bed bugs because there is no pattern, blood on my sheets etc., but
I could be wrong. It's very frustrating.

You should check for bed bugs. Look under the mattress, in the cracks, behind the headboard, under the bed, in other furniture in the room, etc.

If it is mosquitoes, you could get a net for your bed that keeps them out. If you rent, you could ask your landlord to put screens on the windows or you could get some if you own the place.

If none of that helps, you might want to go to the doctor and see if he can identify the bite.

I went to the doctor the first time it happened. They just said it was a bite and
gave me an intense dose of steroid for the swelling. I can't keep doing that but
should probably go to an allergist to confirm that I now have a serious aversion
to some insect bite.
